Brands to Buy

As you go about this gut intensive, it’s important to aim for quality brands and foods. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Opt for organic produce when/where you can.

This is especially true for the berries and the celery, if you are choosing to do the celery juice in the mornings. This is not to shame conventional produce, but as we are cleaning up the gut, it’s important to remember that we are also cleaning up our system from environmental toxins like pesticides and chemicals from mass agriculture. So if you have the means, opt for organic in these categories wherever you can. And even if you can, be sure to wash your produce well before consuming!

Bone Broth

Ideally, you’ll be consuming bone broth in the afternoons. My favorite brands are Kettle & Fire and Epic Provisions. Pacific Foods is also a decent option for a cheaper price point. PRO TIP: heat your bone broth until JUST heated (do not boil). And for more flavor, feel free to lightly salt it before sipping and enjoying.

Coconut Milk with NO Guar Gum

When you are choosing your coconut milks, I most often prefer mine with FULL fat, and NO guar gum. Native Forest canned coconut milk has a great version without these added gums that are known to irritate the digestive system. And absolutely wherever possible, please ensure all your milks are UNSWEETENED.

Sweet things…

Perfection is rarely possible, and there may be moments where you need something a little sweet. While I’d love for you to stick to the plan as closely as possible during these two weeks, I also know that things happen. And if they do, I’d rather you opt for sweet things that are dairy-free, cane sugar-free and otherwise not going to cause even more issues while you’re on this journey. Check out my blog here on my favorite sweet treats that are safer than other conventional options. But please note, even though these sweet treats are less offensive to the body, they are still sugar. So please moderate yourself!
